Check the margin mathA drop promo only works if the thing in the picture is for sale. In MRCH the order runs the other way round: design or upload art, preview it on a real garment, see production next to your price, publish the shop. The promo image comes last, made from the live product, so every share points somewhere a buyer can check out.
Because the image is generated after publishing, it always shows the garment you actually sell: the tee, hoodie, cap, tote, sticker or poster in your shop. Keep one look across the feed and the storefront and the drop reads as a line, not a loose file.
Video follows the same rule. If a published design has not sold yet, the mobile app may send you a short promo clip of it as a one-time push, ready to save and share. It is a bonus from the app, not a button you press, and it only ever shows a product that is already live.
